Deputy Sheriff and Correctional Officer Positions Sought

Part Time Deputies needed, $25/hr. Hours are on an as needed basis.
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications to create a list of eligible candidates. Correctional Officer and Deputy Sheriff applicants can apply at the Mercer County Sheriff's Office. Application packets are available 24 hours a day at 906 SW 3rd Street Aledo, Illinois. Applications due by May 1st. Testing will be conducted June 1st. Excellent insurance and benefits package including low cost family health, dental and prescription insurance with low deductible.
Correctional Officer requirements - Age 18 or older, possess high school diploma or GED, possess a valid driver's license, complete screening examination, and be acceptable to the Merit Commission screening. Starting salary $55,473 plus overtime.
Deputy Sheriff requirements - Age 21 or older, possess high school diploma or GED, residency requirements apply, possess a valid driver's license, complete screening written and physical testing, and be acceptable to the Merit Commission. Starting salary is $62,025 plus overtime.
