Mercer County Sheriff's Office is proud to be a part of Illinois Automated Victim Notification System (Illinois AVN). Illinois AVN provides victims of crime and concerned citizens information regarding the case and custody status of offenses where the perpetrator has been incarcerated or charged with a crime. Illinois AVN is a toll-free, 24 hour automated telephone service that provides two essential services INFORMATION and NOTIFICATION.

Important things to know about Illinois AVN:

  • The offender will not know you are registered
  • If you are not home, AVN will leave a message or will keep calling back at regular intervals if no one answers
  • Notification calls may come in the middle of the night
  • AVN calls with display 502 area code on caller ID
You will need as much information about the offender as possible to make retrieving the desired custody or case information is more accessible. The following information will be beneficial:

  • Full Inmate Name
  • Inmate or Booking Number
  • Court Case Numbers such as 13 CF*** or 13 CM***
  • Inmate Date of Birth
  • A PIN code that the caller selects

VINEmobile is now available also. Vine mobile is a free application for your mobile device that allows you to have the above information with you all the time. See the link to the left for more information.
